Ride the Desert and Mountains of Southern Morocco

MOROCCO - The ultimate destination for the adventure off road rider. An unspoilt land of amazing contrasts; magnificent mountains, forests, oasis, and desert landscapes.

Join us for an unforgettable journey and ride from the Atlantic to the Sahara on the high passes, valleys, and gorges of the Atlas Mountains. We ride some of the fantastic desert sections in the Dakar Rally.

The tour is designed for the INTERMEDIATE off road riders. We can vary the route to suit the experience and fitness of the group.

We have KTM 450-EXC, Yamaha TTR-250cc, and Honda CRF450 bikes available and are included in the price.

On tour there is absolutely no pressure - you ride at your own pace. We will have plenty of rest stops throughout the day to catch your breath, take on food & fluids and admire the incredible views. The focus of this tour is on enjoyment - it is not a race!

A unique route combining road and offroad riding designed by John Fulton from 25 Years experience leading adventure tours throughout Morocco.

Our riding starts in Agadir on the the Atlantic coast.

We ride east through the Anti Atlas Mountains and desert pistes to Merzouga below Erg Chebbi; Morocco's highest dune.

Our route follows the pistes of the Jbel Sahro to finish riding Ouarzazate.

OUTLINE ITINERARY:

Daily mileages vary from 80 to 180 miles

Rated: Intermediate

Day 1 - Arrive Marrakech (visit city highlights time permitting). Overnight hotel with pool.

Day 2 - Transfer in private minibus to Agadir on Atlantic Coast. Bike assignment and preparation. Overnight Hotel with pool.

Day 3 - Anti Atlas Mountains & Berber villages - Ride spectacular trails into the heart of the mountains through valleys and gorges and small Berber villages. Overnight hotel with pool.

Day 4 - Anti Atlas & Gorgeous Gorges - An exciting ride through a canyon system with a palmary, fruit trees, patchwork fields and ancient Berber forts high in the cliffs. Overnight in small desert town (hotel with pool).

Day 5 - Jbel Bani Mountains & Desert Towns - We ride part of an old Paris-Dakar route through the Jbel Bani Mountains onto a high plateau. Overnight in a magnificent Kasbah (2 nights) overlooking the High Atlas Mountains.

Day 6 - The foothills of the High Atlas Mountains - A day ride on easy trails with a few river crossings to the explore the exotic Kasbahs of Ait Ben Haddou. They were background in famous films such as Gladiator, Kundun, Laurence of Arabia but to name a few. A photographer's dream! You may opt to stay at your accommodation and have a complete rest.

Day 7 - Jbel Sarhro & the Draa Valley - We cross the Jbel Sarhro and follow the River Draa and its long ribbon of Palmeries to our small Berber village in the foothills of the Jbel Sarhro. Overnight in traditional Kasbah with pool.

Day 8 - Classic desert pistes (trails) - An incredible ride on desert hamada through isolated Berber villages. Overnight in a desert Kasbah (2 nights) overlooking Erg Chebbi (Morocco's highest dune at 500 ft.)

Day 9 - The Saharan pistes & Erg Chebbi - An unforgettable day ride winding its way around the dunes and the desert hamada. Overnight in a desert Kasbah overlooking Erg Chebbi. Tonight we feast with our friends of the desert accompanied by Berber music.

Day 10 - Gorges of the High Atlas - We ride north on desert pistes to the town of Erfoud (famous for its fossils) then North through a series of canyons & river crossings to our Berber village in the High Atlas mountains. Overnight in mountain auberge.

Day 11 - The Land of a thousand Kasbahs - Adventure motorbiking at its best through Morocco's two most famous gorges (the Todra & the Dades). We are treated to spectacular scenery, ancient villages, and grand kasbahs. Overnight in mountain auberge.

Day 12 - Valley of the Roses - A great combination of road and offroad riding takes us through the foothills of the High Atlas mountains to the valley of the roses on the high plateau. Overnight in Kasbah overlooking the High Atlas mountains.

Day 13 - Transfer to Marrakech in private minibus. Overnight in hotel with pool.

Day 14 - Transfer to Marrakech airport for flight home.
